Silt fence is manufactured from polypropylene UV-resistant tapes. Silt fences are perimeter controls used in combination with (properly designed) sediment basins, sediment traps, and erosion controls that can retain sediment in places where the soil is being disturbed by construction processes.
They are temporary sediment control alternatives preferably used on construction sites to protect water quality in nearby streams, rivers, lakes, and bays. A typical fence comprises a piece of synthetic filter fabric (also called a geotextile). It stretches between a series of stakes (which can be wooden or metal) and helps keep the environment as clean as possible.
Our silt fence fabrics are built using the highest possible quality standards to resist some of the most vital damage agents. They are also designed with an excellent flow-through capacity to effectively retain displaced materials like sand and allow space for water to flow freely.
